Spirit, a Poem

You touch my mind
It opens like a flower
You touch my heart
It softens
Flooding me with feelings of joy
Of peace
I close my eyes and reach toward you
You take my hand and lead me beyond the cacophonous city of my mind
To an inviting garden
I sit on grass beneath a waterfall surrounded by fragrant flowers
And watch my regrets
My worries
My fears
Float by like clouds on a summer day
Then I forget to acknowledge you
Yet when I do
You are there
And when I ask you to replace my thought with yours
All I see is light
And love
And laughter
You teach me to trust
All is exactly as it should be
I am not in charge of the outcome
I open my mind
And turn the world over to you.
